It’s Never Too Late to Learn How to Skateboard

It really is never to late to learn how to skateboard. At 28 years old, I am an example of that. I have always wanted to skateboard, but as a child was not allowed. I can still remember hopping on my cousin Michael’s board one time when I was a kid, though. I am a firm believer that it is never to late to learn anything. The video that follows is a humorous look at what happens when a middle aged man decides to take up the skateboard lifestyle. Some of it is rather cliche, but it is all tongue and cheek, so don’t take it too seriously. As one who has taken up skateboarding later in life, I didn’t take offense to this, but found the humor in it. At skateparks, I am often the only girl, and there are almost always more young people than older. And they are doing a lot better than me! But it’s all in fun, and I have never been on the receiving end of any negative comments from any of the skaters. Everyone is very supportive in taking part in an activity they all love. They just appreciate that I have discovered the value in skateboarding, too! If you skated as a child, and miss it, I recommend getting back to it. If you have never skated, but would like to try, try! If there is anything you want to learn to do, what are you waiting for?

Everyone I meet at skateparks is great to me, they wait from me to inch by like a snail before taking their turn, they don’t complain when I slide on my but down into the bowl to practice kickturns, and they provide plenty of encouragement and advice! that’s the great thing about getting into skateboarding, you’re always welcome! keep it up and keep me posted on your progress!
